Hey Guys!
We really appreciate all the help you've given us in getting started here in Stl. It was so much fun getting to film at Hard Rock with you all. And we still have random people come up and say, "You're the guys from tv!" lol.
Thanks again!

I got the DVDs today; thank you again for you and your team's hard work.
We received many compliments and definitely increased our audience base by
appearing on your show.
In fact, the number one question has been, "So when will you be on demand, so I can see it again?"
Let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

Thank you for sending me a DVD copy of the show we recorded at the Hard Rock Cafe with Listen, Neinhaus, Rodgers and Crawford. The camera and edit work was awesome. You guys & gals are pros and I really enjoyed working with all of you. I hope we can work together again in the near future. If any of you guys are at any Rams games this year, please stop by the pre-game rally in the Bush tent and say hi. I'll be mixing the Smash Band live through my new JBL VRX series line array system. This is the same system I had at the Hard Rock plus a few more subs & a 40 channel desk. Again thanks for the DVD and may God bless all of you on "The Set."

Well, today is the last day Soul Descenders will be on Charter On Demand.
I just want to say thank you again for all you've done with the band. Maybe we can do another show in the future. I did get a copy of the DVD, and it's great too!
They will release another CD around July. They are a four piece band now. The singer was not working out for them, so Lee's son is the singer now.
I know A LOT of people watched the show On Demand.
I'll keep you updated on more Soul Descenders shows.
Thanks again,
Garrett

Just wanted to say thank you and [let you know] how proud we are of the DVD! Your folks did an excellent job of representing the band. So you should be proud too. The band will be seeing it for the first time tonight at rehearsal. What a fun ride this has been! You put the fuel in the tank.

Thanks from all the guys, and thanks to you and Charter for making this show for St. Louis musicians. Without people like you it would be so much harder to make St. Louis' music scene matter. You provide a valuable service. Keep up the great work.
SicfaisT is indebted to you. Call on us if you need anything.

I wanted to write and say thank you one more time for the wonderful show your staff produced for our performer TAYNKA.
Everyone loved the high quality of production, and superior editing and scripting, as well as the graphics, lead ins, and promos. The camera angles are superb and the show certainly showcases Taynka at her best.
I have sent the DVD to various record label executives, a filmmaker, and local venue and club owners. I think it will be very valuable in furthering her career.
Not every aspiring talent can say “I had my own TV special” and back it up with a professionally produced DVD that actually aired! I’m sure that someone will soon be saying that they got their big break on CCIN’s The Set! (I hope that someone is Taynka)
Please tell you staff again how much Taynka appreciated your collective efforts, and add my thoughts that it’s a great learning experience for Taynka, to work with a group that takes the job seriously and puts out such a polished product.
I can think of no other outlet that is presenting local talent performing original material. Judging by the great response from friends and fans, I can say it’s the stuff that can really launch a career, so, please keep up the good work.
Thanks again and Best Regards,
Jerry Epstein

New outlet for local musicians
POST-DISPATCH POP MUSIC CRITIC
It's time for St. Louis musicians and singers to start reporting to "The Set."
"The Set" is a new, locally produced program airing Thursdays-Sundays on CCIN-TV 3 and Charter on Demand. It features area music acts performing original material at local venues, including the Pageant, Finale, Blueberry Hill's Duck Room, Cicero's, B.B.'s Jazz, Blues & Soups and Baha Rock Club.
Producer-director Jacqui Poor says, "It's easy to celebrate bands after they made it big. Why not support and celebrate them in the beginning, when they need it the most?"
Usual suspects such as Peter Mayer, Javier Mendoza and Alvin Jett and the Phat Noiz Blues Band have filmed editions of "The Set," along with lesser-known names such as the Helium Tapes, Modern Red and the Round Ups. Carbon Leaf was the subject of the first show, which aired last week.
Bands are filmed in venues where they appear regularly, performing four to six
songs. The 30-minute program also includes interviews with the artists. "I find out about the creative process," Poor says. "It's different from band to band, and it's so interesting.
"Carbon Leaf is so funny. They all have their iPods. When they're creating music, it looks like a science lab. And then you have another band where you have someone sitting with a guitar in the middle of the night thinking about his wife and comes up with a beautiful ballad."
Bands have to have at least 24 minutes of original material and appear locally at a camera-friendly venue, one that can accommodate four to six cameras and provide a clean and direct audio feed.
All types of bands are encouraged to participate, though the first season mostly features rock bands. The show's producers are actively looking to diversify next time around.
"We were really blown away by the caliber of talent right here in town, and we know there's a lot more out there," Poor says. She credits Charter Communication's director of creative services for the concept for "The Set" and says, "We've been wanting to do this for a long time."
Peter Mayer airs Thursday-Sunday. The rest of the lineup: Devon Allman, Jan. 19-22; Javier Mendoza, Jan. 26-29; Field of Grey, Feb. 2-5; Round Ups, Feb. 9-12; Modern Red, Feb. 16-19; Alvin Jett and the Phat Noiz Blues Band, Feb. 23-26; Transmitters, March 2-5; Rusted Shine, March 9-12; the Helium Tapes, March 16-19; and Ded Bugs, March 23-26.

I wanted to send along a thank you to you and your crew from the whole band . In today's world, not enough people support the arts . I read in the news that funding gets cut every single day on art and music programs in schools . The arts are what puts fire into the imagination of our future generations . With no imagination we are robots...literally !
So thank you, and thanks to THE SET for supporting the arts and bringing local music to people's living rooms. It is nice to know someone in a position within the media cares enough to spread the love and bring our music to St. Louisans. Thanks and be well.
Devon Allman, Honeytribe

Thank you once again for the tremendous effort and support of the local music scene given by you and your associates.
It is such a pleasure to see programming that exposes the incredible musical talent in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
I have worked in the music industry almost 20 years. I enjoy providing opportunities to talented performers. It still amazes me how many talented artists thrive in our great metro area. Unless you are in our business, it is only through programming like "The Set" that the people of St. Louis can appreciate what has been going on here for decades.
Your program also provides musicians with a professional DVD of their "set." Many have used this as their "demo" to showcase their music to record companies and talent buyers. It is an opportunity that many artist could only dream of having.
Your experienced production screw enables the bands to work in an environment without constraints. I know how difficult that can be for the crew, who are professional and personable.
Everyone enjoys boasting when our local talent makes the national scene. And thanks to the funding of local entertainment programming like "The Set," you help to get our local talent noticed.
I applaud CCIN TV for their great work!
Sincerely,
Laura Kochan
