Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What's the best format for a logo or graphics I want to email to you for use in my video?A: Charter Media Creative accepts graphics in the following formats:
-Adobe Photoshop (.psd or .eps) version 4 or higher
-Adobe Illustrator (.ai or .eps) version 5 or higher
-JPEG (.jpg)
-Tiff (.tif)
-Pict (.pct)
-Targa (.tga)
Graphics in .gif or .bmp formats are not accepted due to their poor quality image. Also, logos and graphics that are on a website are usually too small to use for broadcast video.
Q: Are there requirements for how I email still photos to you?
A: Yes! Digital photos should be in high resolution, at least 300 dpi. Size-wise, they should be no smaller than 720 x 486. Remember that photos are better if they’re too big than if they’re too small.
Q: What formats do you accept for editing materials?
A: We are happy to take Beta SP/Digital beta tapes; QuickTime movies (.mov); and DVC Pro-25 tapes.
Unfortunately, DVDs, Windows Media, AVI and mpg video formats are not broadcast quality and we cannot accept them.
Q. What kind of format can you give me my final video on?
A. We have fully-functioning DVD authoring capabilities, as well as encoding software that allows us to make any kind of digital file. We can send you approval copies via e-mail, or upload a digital file to FTP sites.
Q: How long does it take to turn my video project around from start to finish?
A: Each video project is unique and different from the last. Factors such as locations, length, lighting, talent, wardrobe, edit time, weather, (just to name a few) all contribute to the complexity of a project. So we sit down and consider all of these factors before projecting a completion date.
Q: Who do I talk to for more information or to get a bid?
A: Call or email Jim Winkle at (314) 996-0219 or HYPERLINK "mailto:Jim.Winkle@chartercom.com" Jim.Winkle@chartercom.com
FACILITY RATING...
We have a full array of state-of-the-art equipment. Our edit suites, studio, and field production gear are the exact same type of gear that the more expensive production houses use, but our prices are often better and more competetive.
Of course, we also feel that equipment is really nothing without the proper people to operate it. Monkeys can be taught to hit a record button or copy and paste, but do you trust how well they will do it?
Our employees are among the best in town. Our group includes emmy-winning directors, shooters, and editors, as well as experienced veterans who are only here to do the job right.
